The analysis was focused on the dorsal cluster of da neurons in third instar larvae. The highest level of tutl-GAL4 driven GFP expression is observed in the dorsal-most class III da neuron (ddaF) followed by the class IV da neuron (ddaC) and the ventral-mostclass III da neuron (ddaA). Intermediate levels of expression are observed in the class II da neuron (ddaB) and very low levels are observed in the two class I da neurons (ddaD and ddaE). Expression is also observed in other sensory neurons of the dorsal cluster.

tutlGAL4 is expressed in some non-R7 axons in the medulla neuropil and inner optic lobe.

The P{Z} element in P{PZ}tutl01085 has been replaced with a P{GawB} element (using P{GawB}elavC155 as the donor).

The orientation of the insertion was not reported.
