[48A3-48A3];[48D3-48D3];
A set of ~800 largely isogenic deficiency stocks created by FLP-induced recombination between FRT-carrying transgenic insertions; molecularly defined deletion endpoints correspond to initial location of the progenitor insertions. Designed to fill gaps in deletion coverage and breakpoint placement; also used to replace older available deficiencies that have not been molecularly mapped.

Breakpoint from FlyBase's release 5 sequence location of progenitor insertion.
Df(2R)BSC329/Df(2R)BSC879 embryos show mild defects in chitin deposition - chitin accumulation in the dorsal trunk at stage 13 is delayed and later chitin levels in the dorsal trunk are slightly lower than wild type.
The presence of P+PBac{XP5.WH5}BSC329 was verified using the PCR methods and primers described in FBrf0175003.
The cytological breakpoints of Df(2R)BSC329 predicted from the Release 5 genomic coordinates of the P{XP}toud07714 and PBac{WH}f01279 transposable element insertions sites are 48A3;48D3.
