Polytene chromosomes normal.
Mutant flies have a mild wing vein loss phenotype.
Wing vein 4 fails to reach the wing margin.
10 to 35% of homozygous males show loss of claws, and 35 to 70% of homozygous males have short veins.
Distal portion of wing vein L4 is missing.
Coordinate mutant.
Terminal gap in LII and LIV, a short subterminal extra vein anterior to LIII of the dorsal component and rarely an extra vein parallel to LII.
Affect adult wing venation.
Terminal gaps at the distal ends of longitudinal wing veins L2 and L4. Wings also have very small pieces of extra venation between the longitudinal veins in the distal part of the wing blade and occasional indentation in the nota.

Approximately 4% of trans-heterozygous dpps1/Lpt1 flies show a shortened posterior crossvein.
When dpps1 is homozygous, Lpt1/+ flies display shortened L4, and occasionally, L2 wing veins, in addition to the enhancement of the posterior crossvein phenotype.
Approximately 6% of flies trans-heterozygous for Lpt1/dpps1 dppd-ho display a shortened posterior crossvein.
Lpt1/+ flies homozygous for both dpps1 and dppd-ho show enhancement of the posterior crossvein phenotype relative to trans-heterozygotes, and shortened L2 and L4 veins.
dpps1/dpps1; sogEP2/sog+ wings and dpps1/dpps1; sogEP3/sog+ wings exhibit significantly truncated veins and posterior crossvein. dpps1/dpps1; sogEP7/sog+ wings exhibit significantly truncated veins. Introduction of dpps1 to det1 homozygotes causes severe truncation of the posterior crossvein and wing vein L4.
dpps1 is rescued by dpp7191.lacZ
The wing vein phenotype is rescued by the transgene carrying dpp7191.T:Ecol\lacZ.
Allele class: shv-w
Pope, 1947.
The allele that had been called "shv1" is renamed dpps1.
Likely to be an enhancer mutation.
