Most bam^z3-2884/bam^Δ86; eIF-4a⁰²⁴³⁹/+ ovarioles contain 4-6 normal egg chambers, while the germaria contain fewer single germ cells compared to bam^z3-2884/bam^Δ86 ovarioles.

eIF-4a⁰²⁴³⁹ fails to dominantly suppress the tumourous phenotype of bam^Δ86 ovarioles.
