Description

Small deletion that specifically disrupts function of the ct wing margin enhancer.

Deletion of the wing enhancer.

Deletion of sequences within the wing margin enhancer.

P-element generated deficiency that deleted the wing margin enhancer.

P element at 7B deleted (chromosome in situ hybridisation), Southern blots show deletion of 1.6kb approximately -124kb with respect to the start of transcription of ct. No Stalker element detectable by chromosome in situ hybridisation at 7B.

Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Hemizygotes show a reduction in the numbers of wing margin bristles and and incised wing margin and wing blade.

Homozygous females show a severe cut wing phenotype.

Strong ct wing phenotype.

Strong phenotype, comparable to ct6: sharply cut wings.

Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Expression of wgScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4C96 suppresses the loss of wing blade tissue, including the slender recurved chemosensory wing margin bristles, seen in ct2s flies, but does not rescue the loss of the stout mechanosensory wing margin bristles.

mamg2.1; ct2s and sd2; ct2s double heterozygotes display a visible cut wing phenotype.
