rho gene expression is driven by an Hsp70 promoter.
Flies carrying rhoWk have ectopic veins in the wing (in the absence of heat shock).
Whether heatshocked or not, this non-inducable line exhibits a very weak extra wing vein phenotype.
In the absence of heat induction individuals display a very weak constitutive excess vein phenotype.
Scer\GAL4CY2/rhoWk is a non-enhancer of wing vein | ectopic phenotype of btl::Egfrλ.UAS
rhoWk; Shs.PK flies heatshocked between 6 and 9 hours after puparium formation (APF) show an extra vein phenotype much stronger than either rhoWk or Shs.PK alone. Entire intervein sectors are converted into veins. Flies heatshocked between 9 and 12 hours APF show a moderate extra vein phenotype, consisting of ectopic crossveins and additional longitudinal veins. Between 12 and 24 hours APF heatshocking induced diffuse extra vein material between wing veins L1 and L2, and between L4 and L5.
Phenotype dependent on site of insertion of P{HS-rho} into the genome.
