msk4/msk5 or msk4/msk4 embryos show a muscle detachment phenotype.

Homozygotes die as late embryos or early larvae, with a normal looking cuticle.

Lethality acts in the late embryo or early larval stages. Embryos are morphologically wild type.

The presence of mbcD11.2/+ or Ced-12KO/+ increases the severity of muscle attachment defects in msk4/msk5 embryos.

Co-expression of Ced-12Scer\UAS.cGa and mbcScer\UAS.cBa via Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in prevalent myoblast fusion, muscle attachment, and tendon cell identity phenotypes in embryos. The muscle attachment and tendon cell phenotypes are not rescued in a msk4/+ background.

Expression of Ced-12Scer\UAS.cGa, Ced-12EDE.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EYFP, or Ced-12Scer\UAS.cGa together with mbcScer\UAS.cBa via Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR partially rescues the msk4 embryonic muscle detachment phenotype.
