egg (with Hrb27C10280)
oocyte & cytoskeleton | germ-line clone
Hrb27Ck10413/Hrb27Ck16203 transheterozygous flies frequently have Mushroom Bodies (MB) with α and β lobes of unequal width (asymmetric), truncated α lobes or MBs lacking either the α or the β lobes, when compared to controls. They also exhibit abnormal overextension of dorsal lobes when compared to controls.
<3% of eggs laid by Hrb27C10280/Hrb27Ck16203 females exhibit any degree of dorsalisation.
Germline clones of Hrb27Ck16203 develop into egg chambers and laid eggs, although many of the eggs have a shape characteristic of dumping defects during the latest stages of oogenesis and are not fertilized. The organisation and polarity of the oocyte cytoskeleton is somewhat abberant in these germline clones. Of the eggs derived from these germ-line clones that are fertilised only 3% develop into larvae. Around half of unhatched eggs form embryos with wild-type cuticle, while 18% have fewer than 6 segments and 15% show head defects consistent with posterior patterning activity at the anterior.
Small eye phenotype is observed in the majority of homozygous females, the posterior supraalar macrochaetae is missing in most males and females.
Hrb27C10280/Hrb27Ck16203 is an enhancer of egg chorion phenotype of sqd1/sqdK12
Hrb27C10280/Hrb27Ck16203 is an enhancer of dorsal appendage phenotype of sqd1/sqdK12
Hrb27C10280/Hrb27Ck16203 is an enhancer of egg operculum phenotype of sqd1/sqdK12
Hrb27C10280/Hrb27Ck16203 is an enhancer of egg phenotype of sqd1/sqdK12
Hrb27C[+]/Hrb27Ck16203 is an enhancer of embryonic/first instar larval cuticle & embryonic head phenotype of Scer\GAL4VP16.nanos.UTR, osk3'UTR.UASp
Hrb27C10280/Hrb27Ck16203, sqd1/sqdK12 has nurse cell & nuclear chromosome phenotype
Dorsalisation of the eggs laid by sqd1/sqdK12 transheterozygotes is enhanced by Hrb27C10280/Hrb27Ck16203, so that 100% show some degree of dorsalisation.
The penetrance and severity of embryonic cuticle patterning defects in osk3'UTR.Scer\UAS.P\T; Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 embryos is enhanced by Hrb27Ck16203/+.
