UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a wild-type csw coding region with a Tag:Myr(Src64B) myristoylation sequence fused to its N-terminus. The myristoylation signal results in the protein being constitutively targetted to the plasma membrane, producing a gain-of-function protein.

Embryos expressing csw::Src64Bsrc90.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4twi.PG have the normal number of VA2 muscle precursor cells.
Expression driven by various Scer\GAL4 lines causes expansion of ventral ectodermal cell fates, aberrant tracheal cell migration, ectopic tracheal tissue, and increased numbers of select muscle and heart precursor cells.

Expression of csw::Src64Bsrc90.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4twi.PG significantly suppresses the loss of VA2 muscle precursor cells seen in spi3 embryos (67% of hemisegments have VA2 cells). Expression of csw::Src64Bsrc90.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4twi.PG does not affect the loss of VA2 muscle precursor cells seen in pntΔ88 embryos (82% of hemisegments have VA2 cells).
