lethal (with Fs(2)KetGFP)
Fs(2)KetRX13/Df(2L)Fs(2)Ket-RX32 animals die as second instar larvae. The larvae become sluggish and die within a day without any apparent morphological defect. Females containing Fs(2)KetRX13/Df(2L)Fs(2)Ket-RX32 germline clones deposit normal looking eggs. The eggs are fertilised, but embryogenesis does not occur due to the lack of cleavage nuclei formation following fertilisation. Eggs derived from females containing homozygous follicle cell clones hatch at a reduced rate compared to eggs derived from control females. The frequency and size of homozygous clones in the wing and tergites is similar to control clones.
