Expression of neurScer\UAS.cLa, under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1, causes a mild loss of wing veins and campaniform sensilla.

Overexpression of neurScer\UAS.cLa, driven by Scer\GAL4neur-P72, in pI cells results in a weak double-socket phenotype associated with a shaft-to-socket transformation.

When a single copy of neurScer\UAS.cLa is driven by Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 mild notum and haed sensory organ loss is seen. A loss of Sensory Organ Precursors (SOPs) is also seen in wing discs. When a single copy of neurScer\UAS.cLa is driven by Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 in the wing, wing vein truncation is seen. The wing vein L3 campaniform sensillae are also missing. At higher levels of misexpression, a recovery of vein length concomitant with a strong thickening of veins is seen. Clusters of L3 campaniform sensillae are also seen. When neurScer\UAS.cLa is driven by Scer\GAL4VMQ, wings display a mild truncation of wing vein 5 and a small amount of wing vein thickening.

When a single copy of neurScer\UAS.cLa is driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, adults exhibit a rough eye phenotype. Mild ommatidial disarray and tufting of interommatidial bristles are seen. When three copies are present, eyes show extreme ommatidial bristle tufting and some fusion and general ommatidial disarray. In the eye discs of these developing flies, photoreceptor and cone cell patterning in the posterior of the disc is abnormal; mild neural hypertrophy and fusion of clusters are apparent. When neurScer\UAS.cLa is driven by Scer\GAL4ey.PS in the eye only minor defects are seen in the overall appearance of the eye.

neurScer\UAS.cLa; Scer\GAL4GMR.PF flies have extra interommatidial bristles. The wings of neurScer\UAS.cLa/neurScer\UAS.cLa; Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 flies lack most of the L3 campaniform sensilla, but little effect is seen on terminal vein differentiation.

Expression of neurScer\UAS.cLa partially rescues the wing phenotype of flies that express mib1ΔRF.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1. This phenotype is almost completely suppressed when both mib1Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC and two copies of neurScer\UAS.cLa are expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 alongside mib1ΔRF.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC.

The combination of Dl9P and neurScer\UAS.cLa ( when driven by Scer\GAL4VMQ) produces a blistered wing phenotype. heterozygous Df(1)N-81k1 flies have small notches at the distal portion of the wing. This is made more variable by the addition of neurScer\UAS.cLa, when driven by Scer\GAL4VMQ.

The extra interommatidial bristle phenotype of neurScer\UAS.cLa; Scer\GAL4GMR.PF flies is dominantly suppressed by effs1782.

Comments

The presence of neurScer\UAS.cLa completely rescues the vein thickening and notching phenotypes due to neurαRING.Scer\UAS, Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1, and partially suppresses the formation of ectopic campaniform sensilla. Paritally rescues: neurαRING.Scer\UAS
