The expression of DroncC318G.UAS.EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4C10 does not affect the size of the adult wing, femur, tibia or tarsal segment 1.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 leads to an opaque wing phenotype, indicative of apoptosis, but does not induce curly wings, which would indicate growth inhibition.
Overexpression of NcΔN.C-A.Scer\UAS in the ddaC neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4477 results in a marked suppression of dendritic pruning. At 14 hours after pupal formation, the dendrites are detached from the soma but still largely cover the same 'footprint' as in third instar larvae. The morphology of detached branches varies: some show proximal swellings, whereas others are thinned and beaded along their entire length.
Ectopic macrochaetae form on the scutellum in 55.2% of cases when DroncC318G.UAS.EGFP is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-P309. In contrast, the ectopic expression of DroncC318G.UAS.EGFP in SOP cells, driven by Scer\GAL4neur-GAL4-A101, does not result in extra macrochaetae. Larvae expressing DroncC318G.UAS.EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-P309 have one extra SOP cell in the scutellum region of the third instar wing disc. Analysis of the scutellum region of the pupal notum (24---30 h after pupal formation (APF)) shows that there is an extra neuron and thecogen present, which are derived from the extra SOP cell. No significant increase in macrochaetae number is seen when DroncC318G.UAS.EGFP is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB following a heat shock at late third-instar (6-12 h APF), which is during SOP cell formation, or after it (24-30 h APF). At the stage prior to the appearance SOP cells, however, DroncC318G.UAS.EGFP expression leads to extra macrochaetae formation.
Expression of NcC318G.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF has little effect on the normal pattern of dying cells in the eye imaginal disc. No death during the pupal stage is seen in animals expressing NcC318G.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF and adult flies have normal eyes.

Co-expression of NcC318G.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP in Scer\GAL4sca-P309; ik2dsRNA.Scer\UAS flies significantly enhances the short-bristle phenotype.

The wgSp-1 mutation is able to suppress the increase in extra macrochaetae seen when DroncC318G.UAS.EGFP is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-P309, while the sgg32 null mutation enhances this phenotype.
