At 14 hours after pupal formation, the dendrites are detached from the soma but still largely cover the same 'footprint' as in third instar larvae. The morphology of detached branches varies: some show proximal swellings, whereas others are thinned and beaded along their entire length.
Expression of NcC318G.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF has little effect on the normal pattern of dying cells in the eye imaginal disc. No death during the pupal stage is seen in animals expressing NcC318G.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF and adult flies have normal eyes.
