Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

The proportion of flies with normal ocelli among the toyG7.39 homozygous mutant escapers is 29% at 18[o]C.

The size of the eye discs can vary from a small cluster of cells to almost wild-type in mutant larvae, and the two discs of a single larva can be very different in size.

Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Expression of eyScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4toy1 partially suppresses the pupal lethality found in toyhdl mutants, increasing the percentage of escapers from 5.1 to 9.5%.

Expression of eyScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4toy1 or Scer\GAL4toy2 suppresses the ocellar phenotype found in toyG7.39 mutants in 85% of adult escapers.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Expression of BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4toy2 significantly increases the survival of toyG7.39 homozygous mutants to the adult stage. The ocellar defects in these rescued flies do not improve.

Complementation and Rescue Data
Comments

Expression of toyScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4toy1 or Scer\GAL4toy2 is able to rescue homozygous mutant toyG7.39 flies.

Expression of toyScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4toy1 or Scer\GAL4toy2 rescues the ocellar phenotype found in toyG7.39 mutants in 90% of flies.

The presence of toyScer\UAS.cCa, without a Scer\GAL4 driver can rescue toyG7.39 at high temperatures (e.g. >25[o]C).
