Expression of upd3dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of either Scer\GAL4Myo31DF.PU or Scer\GAL4Su(H).GBE reduces the increase in the rate of intestinal stem cell division observed upon bacteria infection in the adult midgut by about 50% compared to wild-type.
Expression of upd3dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU and Scer\GAL4esg-NP7397 in the intestinal stem cells (ISCs) and their subsequent lineage (using the "esg[F/O]" flip-out lineage system to mark ISC progenitors and their subsequent lineage) has no effect on epithelium turnover or ISC maintenance in the midgut.
