Co-expression of bsScer\UAS.cHa and MrtfScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 enhances the reduction of veins and overproliferation of intervein tissues in the wing that is seen when either bsScer\UAS.cHa or MrtfScer\UAS.cHa are expressed separately under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096.
Expression of bsScer\UAS.cHa in ring neurons under the control of any of Scer\GAL4c105 (R1), Scer\GAL4EB1 (R2) or Scer\GAL4Aph-4-c232 (R3/R4d) rescues the visual orientation memory defects seen in heterozygous bs2 mutants. Expressing bsScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4ftz.ng (R4) in bs2 mutant flies leads to general locomotor and orientation defects so these flies could not be tested for visual orientation memory phenotype defects.
Repression of bsScer\UAS.cHa expression (under the control of Scer\GAL4bs-1348) by Scer\GAL80cry.PS in lateral neurons results in a loss of long-term memory. The morphology of LN[v]]s in bs1348/+ flies does not differ from that of LN[[v]]s in mutant Scer\GAL4bs-1348/bsScer\UAS.cHa flies.
