Imprecise excision of the P{PTT-GB} element, which leaves the LamC coding region intact. A 1.4kb portion of the original insertion appears to still be present (this portion lacks Avic\GFP and functional w[+] sequences). This lesion is located within both the LamC and ttv transcription units (since LamC is nested within an intron of ttv). However, only LamC function is affected, since the "EX265" chromosome complements ttv00681b and fails to complement LamCEP2199.

NMJ bouton | larval stage (with LamCEX296)
nuclear lamina | third instar larval stage (with LamCEX296), with LamCE174K.UAS, Scer\GAL4BG487
LamCEX265/LamCEX296 transheterozygotes are lethal before adulthood and their third instar larval muscles 6 and 7 exhibit a significantly increased proportion of 'ghost' neuromuscular junctions, but not of abnormal nuclear lamina blebs, as compared to controls.
The expression of either LamCE174K.Scer\UAS or LamCR564C.Scer\UAS, but not of LamCScer\UAS.cLa, under the control of Scer\GAL4BG487 in LamCEX265/LamCEX296 transheterozygotes leads to a strong increase in the number of nuclei exhibiting more than 10 abnormal lamina blebs in third instar larval muscles 6 and 7, as compared to controls.
LamCEX296/LamCEX265 is rescued by Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW/LamCUAS.cLa
LamCEX296/LamCEX265 is not rescued by Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW/LamCE174K.UAS
LamCEX296/LamCEX265 is not rescued by Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW/LamCR564C.UAS
LamCEX265/LamCEX296 transheterozygotes exhibit lethality before adulthood, which is not rescued by the expression of LamCR564C.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW; LamCEX265/LamCEX296 transheterozygotes also exhibit an increased proportion of 'ghost' neuromuscular junctions in third instar larval muscles 6 and 7, which is rescued by the expression of LamCScer\UAS.cLa, but not of LamCE174K.Scer\UAS or LamCR564C.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW.
