The expression of PyKGD16178 from the onset of adulthood, under the combined control of Scer\GAL4da.PU and Gal80[ts], leads to decreased lifespan.

The expression of PyKGD16178 under the control of Scer\GAL4repo.Switch.2301 from day 1 of adulthood (induced by feeding of RU486) leads to decreased lifespan.

When fed on a low carbohydrate diet (0% sucrose supplement), no developmental delay is observed for Scer\GAL4Cg.PA PyKGD16178 (plus Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa) animals. In contrast, when fed a 10% or 20% sucrose supplemented diet, these animals exhibit a significant delay or most die as larvae, respectively.

The size of cells in flip-out Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP PyKGD16178 (plus Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa) clones is almost normal in larvae fed a low carbohydrate diet, but is drastically reduced in larvae fed a 20% sucrose supplemented diet.

Embryos expressing PyKGD16178 under the control of Scer\GAL4kirre.PU have thinner muscles than normal and unfused myoblasts are present.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in early larval lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in grossly normal larval body wall muscles.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in wild-type sarcomeres in the larval body wall muscles.

The size of cells in Df(2L)FASNΔ24-23 MARCM clones expressing PyKGD16178 (plus Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa) is hardly reduced in larvae fed a low carbohydrate diet. However, in larvae fed a 20% sucrose supplemented diet, the size of these cells is dramatically reduced.

Co-expression of PyKGD16178 does not prevent the Scer\GAL4Cg.PA-mediated expression of MycScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 resulting in abnormally large pupae and large wings.
