Neural activity in class IV da neurons expressing Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9>TrpA1GD2375 show a reduction in response to blue light (470 nm) illumination compared with controls. This is accompanied by a loss of larval light avoidance.

Larvae expressing TrpA1GD2375 (co-expressed with Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa) under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9 show reduced responses to both noxious thermal and mechanical stimuli.

Expression of TrpA1GD2375 in all neurons, using Scer\GAL4elav.PLu results in significant impairment of the larval thermal nociception response.

Driving TrpA1GD2375 expression in MD-sensory neurons, under the control of Scer\GAL421-7 impairs the larval thermal nociception response.

Adults expressing TrpA1GD2375 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) show significantly reduced avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Depending on the insertion line used, expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR can result in defects in locomotion or late larval lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 may result in semi-lethality, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 0% or 60-70% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum, depending on the insertion line used.
