flam^KG00476 heterozygote flies do not display any defects in the adult eye morphology.

flam^BG02658/flam^KG00476 ovaries show defective germline and soma differentiation phenotypes. Somatic cells also die.

Homozygous females lay very few eggs.

flam^KG00476 flies have a permissive phenotype with respect to gypsy expression (assayed by expression of a P{gypsy-lacZ.p12} reporter construct in the ovaries).

flam^KG00476 flies are unstable for ZAM expression (assayed by expression of a P{ZAM-lacZ.LTR} reporter construct in the ovaries).

24 hour old flam^KG00476 females have ovaries which are very small and contain rudimentary ovarioles within which no differentiation of germ cells has taken place. In some mutant germaria composite egg chambers in which several germ cell syncytia are surrounded by a single follicle cell layer are seen.
