Expression of Gyc76CUAS.Tag:MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA or Scer\GAL4srp.D.cCa leads to an increase in the number of proliferating hemocytes and an increase in the number of hemocytes (only with Scer\GAL4Cg.PA) in third instar larval hemolymph when compared to controls.

Expression of Gyc76CScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC in all neurons, under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu, produces motor axon guidance defects in which axons often fail to defasciculate from the ISNb and ISNa axon bundles. The outermost longitudinal axon fascicle defasciculates abnormally and project axons away from the midline. Additionally, the dorsal branch of the SNa projects incorrectly between muscles 21 and 22 and then extends toward its proper target.

Expression of Gyc76CScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC in either the salivary glands or mesoderm, under the control of Scer\GAL4fkh.PH or Scer\GAL4twi.PB significantly rescues the gland migration defect found in Gyc76C2388 homozygous embryos. Simultaneous expression of Gyc76CScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC in the salivary gland and mesoderm does not result in increased rescue of the migration defect compared to expression in either tissue alone. In contrast to the rescue of the migration defects, the salivary gland invagination defects of Gyc76C2388 mutant embryos are better rescued by expression of Gyc76CScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC in the gland than in the mesoderm.
