Expressing mir-let7UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4Tub.Switch.PU significantly reduces the adult life span of females treated with RU486 (to switch on transgene expression), with no effect on feeding duration or frequency compared to untreated and wild-type controls. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO under RU486 treatment results in long lived females, but short lived males compared to untreated controls.

Expressing mir-let7UAS.cCa under the control of either Scer\GAL4Dh44.PU or Scer\GAL4GMR57E10 has no effect on life span in females.

Most clones of cells in the wing disc expressing let-7Scer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act stop dividing after 30 hours of clonal growth.

Expression of let-7Scer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4vg.PM results in a reduction in size of the third instar wing disc and of the adult wing.
