Expression of upd2^NIG.5988R under the control of Scer\GAL4^tub.PU and Scer\GAL4^esg-NP7397 in the intestinal stem cells (ISCs) and their subsequent lineage (using the "esg[F/O]" flip-out lineage system to mark ISC progenitors and their subsequent lineage) has no effect on epithelium turnover or ISC maintenance in the midgut.

Expression of upd2^NIG.5988R under the control of Scer\GAL4^ppl.PP results in small adults.

Expression of upd2^NIG.5988R under the control of Scer\GAL4^Cg.PA results in small larvae.

Larvae expressing upd2^NIG.5988R under the control of Scer\GAL4^Cg.PA show a significant reduction in triacylglycerol (TAG) levels compared to controls.

15 day old adults expressing upd2^NIG.5988R under the control of Scer\GAL4^yolk show a significant reduction in TAG levels and a significant increase in circulating glucose levels compared to controls.

Adults expressing upd2^NIG.5988R under the control of either Scer\GAL4^yolk or Scer\GAL4^Cg.PA do not show defects in feeding behaviour.
