The expression of DlishHMS01708 under the combined control of Scer\GAL4nub.PU and Dicer-2 transgene (for an efficient RNAi) leads to significant decreases in total wing area and in wing inter-crossvein distance, and leads to mostly normal orientation of the wing hairs, as compared to controls; expression under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU leads to a significant decrease in tarsal length, as compared to controls.

Expression of DlishHMS01708 reduces the size of the posterior wing compartment (driven by Scer\GAL4hh.PU) or the whole adult wing blade and causes hair polarity defects (driven by Scer\GAL4nub.PU) relative to controls.

The co-expression of DlishHMS01708 and either ftGD881 or dsGD2646 under the combined control of Scer\GAL4nub.PU and Dicer-2 transgene (for an efficient RNAi) results in wing phenotypes that are similar to those observed upon expression of DlishHMS01708 alone (i.e. small wings and virtually no wing hair orientation defects), instead of similar to those observed upon expression of ftGD881 alone (i.e. big wing area and severe wing hair orientation defects) or dsGD2646 alone (i.e. big wing area). Conversely, the co-expression of exGD12782 and DlishHMS01708 under the combined control of Scer\GAL4nub.PU and Dicer-2 transgene (for an efficient RNAi) results in a big wing area phenotype similar to that observed upon expression of exGD12782 alone.
