Inhibition (using Hsap\KCNJ2UAS.EGFP) of Scer\GAL4VT030604 cells, in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the adult stage, reduces the number of lipid droplets, but does not affect food intake or climbing rate, compared to controls.

Thermogenetic activation (using TrpA1UAS.(B).cKa at 30[o]C) of Scer\GAL4VT030604 cells in adults increases the number of lipid droplets and significantly increases food intake, but does not affect climbing rate, compared to controls.

Inhibition (using shits1.IVS.p10.20xUAS at 32[o]C) of Scer\GAL4VT030604 cells in adults during consolidation alone, or acquisition and consolidation, but not acquisition or retrieval alone, significantly reduces 24-hour associative olfactory water-reward memory, compared to controls; inhibition has no effect on water preference, compared to controls.

Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 31[o]C) of Scer\GAL4VT030604 cells in adults during testing only significantly reduces 3-hour aversive olfactory anaesthesia-resistant memory (ARM), compared to controls; ARM is further reduced when Scer\GAL4c739 and Scer\GAL4VT030604 cells are simultaneously inhibited during testing; neither of these combinations affect odor or shock avoidance, compared to controls.
