Expression of wtsVDRC.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH and Scer\GAL4GMR.long, in combination with a Dicer-2 transgene to enhance RNAi efficiency, causes a decrease in the number of yellow R8 photoreceptors, compared to controls.

Expression of wtsVDRC.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 has no apparent germarium phenotype.

Expression of wtsVDRC.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4nub-AC-62 results in overgrowth of the posterior compartment of the wing disc.

Expression of wtsdsRNA.UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4hh.PU causes overgrowth of the expressing region of the wing disc in the larva.

The rather moderate tumorous germarium phenotype characteristic for adult female flies expressing cidsRNA.shRNA.Scer\UAS.P\T under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 is significantly improved by co-expression of wtsVDRC.cUa. Co-expression of wtsVDRC.cUa can also partially rescue the aggravated tumorous phenotype of flies expressing both cidsRNA.shRNA.Scer\UAS.P\T and hpoScer\UAS.cWa simultaneously.

Expression of RokVDRC.cUa does not suppress the wing disc posterior compartment overgrowth seen in flies expressing wtsVDRC.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4nub-AC-62.
