hide Detailed Description
Statement
Reference
Expression of wunScer\UAS.cZa under the control of both Scer\GAL4twi.PG and Scer\GAL4how-24B results in a reduction in germ cell number.
When expression is governed by Scer\GAL4twi.PG, such that wun is expressed in the mesoderm, very few germ cells enter the mesoderm, remaining instead in the yolk.

Expression of wun[Scer\UAS.cZa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16] rescues the germ cell death in embryos derived from females carrying homozygous wun[49] wun2[EP2650ex34] germline clones and wild type males.
The rate of retinal degeneration seen in rdgA3 flies is enhanced if they are also expressing wunScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4ninaE.PT.
The germ cell death seen in embryos with a wun2+ soma which are derived from wun2EP2650ex34/Df(2R)wun-GL females is rescued by expression of wunScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16. Expression of wunScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 in the germ cells partially suppresses the reduction in germ cell number seen in embryos expressing wun2αTub84B.T:Hsap\MYC in the soma.
