Heterozygotes do not have an ectopic wing vein phenotype.

20% of homozygotes show pharate adult lethality and the remaining 80% develop as adults with head capsule and wing vein defects.

50% of dpps22/dpps11 animals develop as adults with head capsule and wing defects, while the remaining 50% die as pharate adults.

Some dpps20/dpps11 animals develop as adults with head capsule and wing defects, while others die as pharate adults.

42% of dpps3/dpps11 animals develop as adults with head capsule and wing defects, while the remaining 58% die as larvae.

27% of dpps12/dpps11 animals develop as adults with head capsule and wing defects, while the remaining 73% die as larvae.

45% of dpps5/dpps11 animals develop as adults with head capsule and wing defects, while the remaining 55% die as larvae.

60% of dpps13/dpps11 animals develop as adults with head capsule and wing defects, while the remaining 40% die as larvae.

dpps7/dpps11 animals have head capsule and wing defects.

dpps4/dpps11 flies have a "shortvein" phenotype; the distal ends of L2, L4 and L5 are truncated. The posterior crossvein is missing.

dpp expression in shv-class of dpp alleles has been examined: they selectively remove aspects of embryonic visceral mesoderm expression of dpp.

Midguts from dpps11/dpps22 mutant larvae exhibit variable gastric caeca length and/or absence defects.

Weak pharate adult lethal when heterozygous with other dpp alleles. Adult escapers display wing venation defects, reduced maxillary palps and vibrissae head capsule.

Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Combining heterozygous Art150 with homozygous dpps11 results in the shortening of the fifth longitudinal vein L5 in almost all flies, a venation defect that is not seen in homozygous Art150 or Art150 heterozygotes alone.

Only 14% of MAN1ΔC flies heterozygous for dpps11 show extra venation.

The frequency of the ectopic wing vein phenotype caused by expression of SnooGS-C517T under the control of Scer\GAL4tub is significantly suppressed if the flies are also carrying one copy of dpps11.
