rho-5^KO1/+ strongly enhances the rough eye phenotype seen in rho^hs.sev.

Co-expression of rho-5^Scer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4^GMR.PF suppresses the rough eye phenotype seen when rho^hs.sev is overexpressed.

rho^hs.sev rough eye phenotype is enhanced in the presence of Fas2^G0293/+ or Fas2^EB112/+ at 18[o]C.

The rough eye phenotype seen when flies express one copy of rho^hs.sev is enhanced when these flies are heterozygous for the following Gug alleles: Gug³⁵, Gug⁰³⁹²⁸, Gug^1207D6 and Gug¹⁴⁹⁶⁷.

Expression of Gug^Scer\UAS.cCa, under the control of Scer\GAL4^GMR.PF, suppresses the rough eye phenotype of rho^hs.sev-expressing flies. This phenotype is also suppressed by coexpression of Gug^{Ubi-p63E.T:Avic\GFP}.

The rho^hs.sev rough eye phenotype is dominantly enhanced by sty^S73 or sty^S88.

Reduction in dose of spi rescues the rho^hs.sev eye to a near wild-type phenotype; regular array of ommatidia, regular arrangement of photoreceptors and unbroken lattice of pigment cells. Rescue is not always complete. Mutations in Egfr, Ras85D, Sos and S also rescue the mutant phenotype. Reduction in the dose of aop enhances all the defects seen in rho^hs.sev eyes.
