Scer\GAL4tub- and Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI-driven co-expression of E2fScer\UAS.cNa and DpScer\UAS.cDa in CycEAR95 follicle stem cell (FSC) clones also expressing CycEWX.Scer\UAS.cWa suppresses the CycEAR95-associated defective FSC-maintenance phenotype.

The expression of ruxhs.PT during G2-phase 14 in CycEAR95 mutants leads to a degradation of Cyclins, apparently resetting G2 cells to G1. Nuclei retain interphase 14 size and density and exhibit increased ploidy. Tetranemic chromosomes are also generated.
In a CycEAR95 mutant background, no DNA replication is induced in stage 13 or 14 embryos by simultaneous over-expression of E2fhs.PD and Dphs.PD. In a heterozygous CycEAR95 mutant background simultaneous over-expression of E2fhs.PD and Dphs.PD causes induction of S phase in the salivary gland and midgut, but not the epidermis.
