Cytology
Description

Cytoplasmic domain of Egfr is fused to the extracellular domain from a constitutively active mutant of tor. Expression is influenced by sev enhancer and an Hsp70 promoter.

Egfr intracellular kinase domain replaces the equivalent region from tor13D, expression of the chimera is driven by an Hsp70 promoter and a single copy of the 1.2kb sev enhancer.

Rough eye phenotype.

Rough eye phenotype. Extra R7 cells.

Homozygotes exhibit extra outer photoreceptor cells, the recruitment as neurons of the mystery cells. Ommatidia also exhibit extra cone and primary pigment cells, independent of the number of receptor cells. Activated Egfr is able to replace sev, sev14; P{sE-torso4021-sev}/P{sE-torso4021-sev} flies exhibit R7 cells in many ommatidia.

Partial rescue of tracheal migration defect in btl homozygotes.

Denticle belt fusions in the cuticles of rho7M43; ru1 double homozygous embryos are suppressed by Egfr::tort4021E.hs.sev; Scer\GAL4prd.RG1.

The eye phenotype of flies expressing Egfr::tort4021E.hs.sev is dominantly enhanced by styS73 or styS88 and is suppressed by styScer\UAS.N.T:Ivir\HA1 or styScer\UAS.C.T:Ivir\HA1 expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev.

Immunoprecipitation of protein lysates from flies expressing the activated Egfr::tort4021E.hs.sev receptor indicates that Shc is associated with the Egfr::tort4021E.hs.sev protein in vivo.

Lysates from non-heatshocked and heat shocked flies are generated and tested for protein binding to Cbl by SDS-gel electrophoresis.

Immunoprecipitation of lysates from flies expressing Egfr::tort4021E.hs.sev indicates that Cbl protein is associated with activated Egfr protein.
