    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

As third instar larvae krzL8 homozygotes develop melanotic tumors. This phenotype is incompletely penetrant and has variable expressivity.

Third instar larvae develop melanotic tumours, which form throughout the body cavity but most frequently collect in the posterior of the larva. Tumours are frequently found floating free in the haemocoel. Some disaggregation of the fat body is seen.

    Statement
    Reference

Both the penetrance and expressivity of the melanotic tumor phenotype seen in third instar krzL8/krzL8 larvae, are significantly enhanced by heterozygosity for nej1 or nej3.

    Partially rescued by

krzL8 is partially rescued by krz+t5.8

    Comments

krz+t5.8 rescues the larval lethality and formation of melanotic tumours seen in krzL8 animals.
