Expressing p53GUS.PB under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU induces a small, rough eye phenotype.

Expression of p53GUS.PB in the fat body under the control of Scer\GAL4yolk increase the starvation resistance of adult flies.

Expression of p53GUS.PB under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in a rough eye phenotype.

Expression of p53GUS.PB under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU produces flies with small and rough eyes with a glossy appearance. Massive cell death is seen in the posterior half of the third instar larval eye disc and the number of R7 photoreceptors is reduced compared to wild type. Pupal eye discs also show disrupted ommatidial organization and a reduction in the number of R7 photoreceptors.

Scer\GAL4GMR.PF-driven overexpression of p53GUS.PB induces apoptosis in the developing eye disc, giving a rough eye phenotype that can be suppressed by co-expression of p53259H.GUS.

Expression of p53GUS.PB in adult neurons, driven by Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO following induction with RU486, does not affect lifespan.

Expression of p53GUS.PB in the posterior compartment of the wing disc, driven by Scer\GAL4en-e16E, induces apoptosis.

Flies expressing p53GUS.PB under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU exhibit a rough eye phenotype.

Hemocytes in @p53GUS.PB

; Scer\GAL4srp.Hemo@ late embryos do not exhibit abnormal aggregation.

Expression of p53GUS.PB under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in abnormally shaped wings with a dramatic reduction of the wing blade, due to massive cell death.

Co-expression of Cdk5GD13840 does not affect the rough eye phenotype caused by expression of p53GUS.PB under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

Induction of Df(3L)H99 third instar larval eyes disc clones blocks the cell death seen when p53GUS.PB is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU. The reduction in R7 photoreceptors is not rescued. Df(3L)H99 is also unable to rescue the ommatidial organisation and reduction in R7 cell number seen in pupal eye discs.

Induction of NcI29 third instar larval eyes disc clones blocks the cell death seen when p53GUS.PB is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU. However the reduction in R7 photoreceptors is not rescued.

A Df(3L)XR38/Df(3L)H99 background does not suppress the cell death seen when p53GUS.PB is expressed in third instar eye discs under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.

A rpr87/Df(3L)H99 background does not suppress the cell death seen when p53GUS.PB is expressed in third instar eye discs under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.

A WrvX1/Df(3L)H99 background significantly suppresses the cell death seen when p53GUS.PB is expressed in third instar eye discs under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.

The eye phenotype resulting from the overexpression of p53GUS.PB via Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is unaffected by the co-expression of RbfScer\UAS.cDa.

The apoptosis induced by the overexpression of p53GUS.PB via Scer\GAL4GMR.PFin the eye disc is unaffected by homozygous Dpunspecified.

Coexpression of pucScer\UAS.P\T.T:Hsap\MYC does not block the apoptosis induced in the wing disc by expression of p53GUS.PB under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E.

Expression of grpGUS.cBa has no effect on the rough eye phenotype seen when p53GUS.PB is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.

Expression of lokkd.GUS suppresses the rough eye phenotype seen when p53GUS.PB is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.

When raised at 25[o]C, animals co-expressing p53GUS.PB and lokGUS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU die during pupation. When raised at 18[o]C, expression of lokGUS.cBa enhances the rough eye phenotype seen in flies expressing p53GUS.PB alone.

The wing defects caused by expression of p53GUS.PB under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 are completely suppressed by haync2/+ or haync2rv1/+.

Expression of BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa is unable to suppress the small, rough eye phenotype seen when p53GUS.PB is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU. However the cell death seen in the posterior half of the p53GUS.PB third instar larval eye disc is strongly inhibited.

Co-expression of p53GUS.PB and BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in loss of all types of photoreceptor neurons.

Expression of dapScer\UAS.cdNa partially rescues the cell death and R7 photoreceptor loss seen when p53GUS.PB is expressed in third instar larval eye discs under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU. The adult eye ablation phenotype is also partially rescued.

Complementation and Rescue Data
Comments

Expression of p53GUS.PB under the control of Scer\GAL4yolk rescues the reduced survival seen in homozygous p53-ns flies in response to starvation.

Expression of p53GUS.PB rescues the reduction in X-ray induced radiation seen in p5311-1B-1 mutant third instar larvae. This rescue is accomplished in the absence of a Scer\GAL4 driver.
