Expression of dppJF01371 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW leads to an increase in the spontaneous locomotion particularly in proximity to the food and an increase in the probability of proboscis extension reflex (also occurs with Scer\GAL4GS.Act88F and RU486 feeding) when compared to control adults.

Ovaries in flies expressing dppJF01371 under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 have germaria with fewer spectrosome-containing cells than control germaria; germaria exhibit significant loss of cystoblast bodies and germline stem cells over time; and the number of dividing cystoblasts (but not the number of dividing germline stem cells) is higher, as compared to controls.

Germaria in flies expressing dppJF01371 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR25A11 exhibit significant loss of cystoblast bodies and germline stem cells over time, as compared to controls.

The expression of dppJF01371 under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 does not lead to any obvious defects in the number of germ line stem cells in the germarium, as compared to controls.

Scer\GAL4Switch1.PC-driven expression of dppJF01371 results in precocious adult midgut progenitor cell differentiation into polyploid enterocyte-like cells which start to break away from wild-type adult midgut progenitor cells.
