Adulthood-only expression of Syx17JF01937 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg.PU leads to a significant increase in the number of mitotic cells (phospho-H3 staining) in the adult midgut, as compared to controls. (The temporal regulation of expression is dependent on Gal80[ts] and induced by temperature shift to 29[o]C for 5-6 days during adulthood).

The expression of Syx17JF01937 under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA results in early third instar larval fat bodies with moderate accumulation of small autophagosomes and lysosomes, as compared to controls.

Scer\GAL4He.PZ-driven expression of Syx17JF01937 does not induce increase in the number of circulating hemocytes in third instar larvae relative to controls.

Expression of Syx17JF01937 under the control of Scer\GAL4ple.PU (in combination with a Dicer-2 transgene to enhance RNAi efficiency) causes significantly decreased numbers of PPL1 dopaminergic neurons after 48h at 29[o]C, as compared with controls.
