Under control conditions, the adulthood-only expression of traJF03132 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP7397 (together with Gal80[ts], for the temporal regulation of expression, and Dicer-2, for efficient RNAi) leads to a significant shortening of the adult midgut in females only, but does not significantly affect the overall cell number, the progenitor cell number (intestinal stem cells/enteroblasts) or the mitotic index in the female or male adult posterior midgut, as compared to controls. This expression also leads to a significant decrease in the number of enteroblasts, but not of intestinal stem cells, and to a decrease in the mitotic index in the adult midgut of mated females, but not of virgin females, as compared to controls.

Under control conditions, the clonal expression of traJF03132 under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU leads to a significant decrease in average clone cell number, while and the clonal and adulthood-only expression under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP7397 (together with Gal80[ts], for the temporal regulation of expression) leads to a significant decrease in clonal area, as compared to controls.

Under control conditions, the adulthood-only co-expression of traJF03132 and dsxUAS.female under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP7397 (together with Gal80[ts], for the temporal regulation of expression, and Dicer-2, for efficient RNAi) does not significantly affect the number of progenitor cells (intestinal stem cells/enteroblasts) or the mitotic index in the female adult posterior midgut, as compared to controls.

The co-expression of traJF03132 suppresses the increased mitotic index in the female adult posterior midgut induced by the adulthood-only expression of NKK102890 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP7397 (and Gal80[ts], for the temporal regulation of expression).

Expression of traJF03132 under the control of Scer\GAL4mir-124.4.7 significantly increases male-female mating success, reduces male-male courtship, improves production of cis-vaccenyl acetate and lowers pentacosene levels in mir-124Δ4/mir-124Δ177 males.

Expression of traJF03132 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU suppresses male-male courtship in mir-124Δ4/mir-124Δ177 males.
