Somatic clones expressing brmHM04019 under the control of Scer\GAL4Tub.PU contain a smaller overall number of cells and intestinal stem cells in adult flies compared to controls.

Expression of brmHM04019 under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 does not cause any obvious defects in germaria morphology and development.

Expression of brmHM04019 results in: severely reduced eye size (with Scer\GAL4ey.PH), small and deformed or blistered wings (with Scer\GAL4nub.PK) and near complete pupal lethality - the few escapers display wing phenotype (with Scer\GAL4en.PU). Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI-driven expression is lethal; no overt adult phenotype is observed with Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

Expression of brmHM04019 under the control of Scer\GAL4SPARC-MI00329-GAL4 does not result in melanisation of the fat body.

Fewer intestinal stem cells (ISCs) are seen in the posterior midguts of adult flies expressing brmHM04019 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130. The number of mitotic cells is also reduced. The cells exhibit an spherical shape compared with the angular shaped control cells.

Expression of brmHM04019 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in a reduction in wing size, slight curling of the wing and an abnormal wing shape.

Simultaneous expression of both PscGD4481 and Su(z)2GD16388 under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 (together with tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression to adulthood) results in tumorigenic accumulation of spectrosome containing germline stem cell-like (GSC-like) cells (which increase in number with the time of expression) in female germaria; this accumulation of GSC-like cells is significantly suppressed by co-expression of brmHM04019.

The adult wing phenotype induced by expression of brmHM04019 under the control of Scer\GAL4nub.PK is enhanced by co-expression of httGD14943 or by combination with a single copy of httint.
