Inhibition (using Ctet\TeTxLCFRT.stop.UAS) of Scer\GAL4VT005534 neurons expressing Scer\FLP1L.8xlexAop under the control of Ecol\lexAGMR24B02 in males results in a slight reduction in sine song during courtship than controls and a significant increase in pulse carrier frequency, but no difference in inter-pulse interval, pulse amplitude, sine amplitude or sine carrier frequency, compared to controls.
Acute optogenetic activation (using Cnoc\ChR1Cs.20xUAS.FRT.Venus with 660 nm (red) light activation) of Scer\GAL4VT005534 neurons expressing Scer\FLP1L.8xlexAop under the control of Ecol\lexAGMR24B02 in males, in the absence of females, induces pulse song, but not sine song.
