Disrupted eye development. PACAP38 (neuropeptide pituitary adenylyl cyclase-activating polypeptide) induced normal enhancement of K+ currents.

No effect on the faf eye phenotype.

Rough eye phenotype.

Rough eye phenotype. Ommatidia are improperly oriented and occasionally are fused. Ommatidia contain supernumerary cells that are characteristic of R7 cells. Supernumerary cells are derived from a cone cell precursor, or a mystery cell, that adopts a neural fate in the disc. Wings show additional longitudinal veinlet branches of the posterior crossvein and delta-like structures. One or two extra sex combs form in ectopic positions and in both sexes duplications of epidermal structures associated with bristles of the distal leg.

Rough eye phenotype, 86% ommatidia contain supernumerary R7-like cells, at the expense of cone cell precursors.
