Scer\GAL4Ir76b.1.5 drives expression in almost all labellar taste neurons.
ScerGAL4Ir76b.1.5 labels multiple cells of the labellum as well as axonal projections in the adult subesophageal zone. ScerGAL4Ir76b.1.5 labelled cells have near complete overlap with expression driven by ScerGAL4Ir76b.916.
Expression is observed in multiple gustatory receptor neurons per sensillum. In the tarsal sensilla, expression largely overlaps and includes sweet and bitter gustatory receptor neurons. Expression also occurs in multiple neurons per sensillum in the labial palps.
Drives expression in almost all adult gustatory receptor neurons, and in a subset of multidendritic larval tracheal innervating neurons.
Inhibition (using Hsap\KCNJ2UAS.EGFP) of Scer\GAL4Ir76b.1.5 cells in adult females significantly reduces preference for oviposition on acid-containing medium, compared to controls; this phenotype is also seen when inhibition is restricted to a smaller subset of Scer\GAL4Ir76b.1.5 cells (using Ecol\lexAGr66a.PU, Ecol\lexAVP16.Gr64f and Scer\GAL80ts.lexAop.cTa).
