    Description

500bp of coding sequence from the second PRAS40 exon has been replaced with a mini-w marker, which causes the rest of the PRAS40 gene to be out of frame. Generated by homologous recombination using a donor construct based on the pRK1 plasmid.

    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

Homozygous flies are viable and fertile and are not significantly delayed in development. They have no obvious eye patterning defects and are normal in weight. Total wing size and wing hair density are normal (indicating normal cell size).

Homozygous females have larger ovaries and lay more eggs per day than controls.

    Additional Comments
    Genetic Interactions
    Statement
    Reference

PRAS40KO, Tsc1S533A.Tub, gig4A.αTub flies are viable and normal in size.

PRAS40KO completely rescues the sterility of chico1 females, but does not suppress the reduced body and wing cell size of chico1 flies.

The increased rate of egg laying seen in PRAS40KO females is rescued by one copy of S6k07084.

    Comments

The increased rate of egg laying seen in PRAS40KO females is rescued by expression of PRAS40Scer\UAS.cCa under the control of either Scer\GAL4hs.PU or Scer\GAL4nos.PU.
