dbohenji-1/dbohenji-1 and dbohenji-1/dbohenji-8 mutant larval neuromuscular junctions display an increase in satellite boutons (which are small boutons that emerge from large parental boutons). The number of boutons with normal size is slightly reduced in dbohenji-1/dbohenji-8 mutants, but is unchanged in dbohenji-1/dbohenji-1 mutants. dbohenji-1/dbohenji-8 mutants exhibit enlargement of the postsynaptic densities, as compared to controls.

dbohenji-1/dbohenji-1 mutant larval neuromuscular junctions display an expansion of the synaptic membrane region, as compared to controls.

dbohenji-1/dbohenji-1 and dbohenji-1/dboc04604 mutant larval neuromuscular junctions do not show any difference in the amplitude of evoked junction potential (EJP), but do show strong elevation in miniature EJP (mEJP) amplitude, with no corresponding change in mEJP frequency, and significantly decreased quantal content, as compared to controls.
