Expression in procephalic neuroblasts stage 9-11: tritocerebrum - d7, v5; deuterocerebrum - d1, d2, d4, d6, v1-7; protocerebrum - ad1, ad4, cv1-3, pd2

mirr reporter gene expression is detected primarily in the ventral region of procephalic neurectoderm and corresponding neuroblasts. No segmental pattern of expression is observed. There is faint expression in one small region dorsally in the area where the optic lobe invaginates. At stage 11 mirr reporter expression is observed in all ventral deutocerbral neuroblasts, 2 tritocerebral neuroblasts and 4 ventral protocerbral neuroblasts.

Expression is observed in the prospective notum and pleural cell regions of the wing disc.

Expression of EcollacZ in this enhancer trap matches that of wild-type mirr transcript expression. Expression is seen in a segmental pattern in stage 10-11 embryos. Expression in the larval eye imaginal disc is restricted to the dorsal half of the imaginal disc.
