CyRFP1 is a dimeric red fluorescent protein with an excitation peak of 529nm and an emission peak of 588nm in vitro. It is an artificial derivative of the naturally occurring fluorescent protein encoded by the Entacmaea quadricolor eqFP578 gene, derived by mutagenesis of CyOFP1, containing in addition the mutation H61M (PMID:27798609).
