Associated with 30kb inversion to right of the deletion (Reddy, Zehring, Wheeler, Pirrotta, Hadfield, Hall and Rosbach, 1984, Cell 38: 701-10). Left breakpoint localized to an approximately 4 kilobase restriction fragment some 70 kb to the right of the origin of a 160 kb walk (Gunaratne, Mansukhani, Lipari, Liou, Martindale and Goldberg, 1986, Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci. USA 83: 701-05).
