No wing notching is seen in dx1/+ mutant flies.

Homozygous and dx1/dx152 flies show wing vein thickening, with the severity of the phenotype being stronger in the dx1/dx152 flies (which can show wing notching).

dx1 mutant larvae have normal wild-type numbers of crystal cells.

dx1/Y flies show terminal deltas in wing veins.

Phenotype resembles reduction of N activity: nicking of distal region of wing blade and thickening of wing veins.

Wings have thick veins and nicks at or between veins III and IV. Wings are held out. Slight eye roughness: irregular shape and organization of facets, some bristles are duplicated. Ocelli are closer than normal, bristles between them are not properly spaced and sometimes missing. Thorax and leg bristle placements are disorganized, extra or doubled bristles may also be seen on the eye, leg, head and scutellum. Temperature- dependent wing phenotype: less severe at 18oC, more severe at 29oC.

Viable. Extra vein material at tips, infrequent wing notching, ocelli are abnormal. Weak rough eye phenotype: irregular ommatidia, bristles are duplicated or missing. No visual abnormality. Temperature-dependent flightless: cannot fly at 25oC, normal flight at 18oC.

Veins show thickenings and terminal deltas; resembles Dl in third chromosomes except fully viable, fertile and easily classified. Nearly suppressed by su(dx), Su(dx) and Su(dx)2. RK2.

dx1/Traf6ex1 transheterozygotes exhibit a wing vein thickening phenotype.

The wing vein phenotype resulting from the expression of uifasterisk.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 is enhanced by dx1.

CG6194P0997/CG6194P0997 enhances wing vein thickenings and wing margin loss in dx1/Y flies.

The addition of dx1/Y enhances the wing nicking phenotype seen in mamN.Scer\UAS, Scer\GAL4C96 flies.

No effect on the faf eye phenotype.

The mutant wing, eye and ocelli phenotypes are dominantly suppressed by Su(dx)1, Su(dx)2 and Su(dx)sp.
