Heterozygous adults show transformations of 2nd leg to 1st leg, wing to haltere, and ventral wing margin to dorsal wing margin. Pc22/Pc2 transheterozygotes survive to the pupal stage, giving pharate adults with a strong Pc adult phenotype: there are intersegmental, wing to haltere, extra sex comb and abdominal homeotic transformations. In addition, there is partial transformation of ventral wing margin to dorsal, and posterior wing to anterior.
Transformation of anterior segments to the 8th abdominal segment. Double heterozygous adult escapers show a mild homeotic transformation.
Homozygous escunspecified embryos (derived from homozygous escunspecified mothers) that are also homozygous for Pc2 show a more extreme transformation than those carrying two copies of Pc+.
partial transformations of second and third legs into first legs in Pc/+ heterozygotes
Pc2, ScmET50 has partially lethal | dominant phenotype
Pc2, ScmR5-13 has partially lethal | dominant phenotype
Pc2, ScmSuz302 has partially lethal | dominant phenotype
Antp49, Pc2 has partially lethal - majority die | dominant phenotype
The addition of heterozygous Pc2 has no effect on the Pairing sensitive silencing effect seen in wMcp.10, and wMcp.scs'.11. The addition of heterozygous Pc2 has no effect on the Pairing sensitive silencing effect seen in wMcp.scs'.11 (P{Mcp-w#11}16/+, P{Mcp-w#11}102/+) double heterozygous insertions. The addition of heterozygous Pc2 has no effect on the Pairing sensitive silencing effect seen in wMcp.scs'.14/wMcp.13 (P{Mcp-w#14}AP-2stummelbein/+, P{Mcp-w#13}116/+) double heterozygous insertions.
