Contains a 13bp deletion in exon 3 causing a frameshift about 380bp upstream of the HMG box.
A 13bp deletion causing a frameshift about 380bp upstream of the HMG box.
cicD49/+ animals do not show a wing phenotype.
cicD49 combined with cic1 produces animals with a terminal lethal phenotype. Homozygous mutant clones are smaller than controls, they often differentiate as vein tissue in ectopic positions, particularly if they are close to normal veins. These changes are not strictly cell autonomous, as many intervein cells within the mutant clones differentiate normally, and mutant clones can also induce neighbouring wild-type cells to differentiate as vein tissue, either in the same wing surface or in the opposite one.
Homozygotes show weak neural hyperplasia.

cic[+]/cicD49 is an enhancer of visible phenotype of Hsap\ATXN182Q.UAS, Scer\GAL4cv-c-C5

cic[+]/cicD49 is an enhancer of wing vein | ectopic phenotype of Hsap\ATXN182Q.UAS, Scer\GAL4cv-c-C5
cicD49 is a suppressor of wing vein | somatic clone phenotype of Ras85DΔC40B
cicD49 combined with bwkΔ4, bwk08482, bwkΔ14 and bwkΔ11 shows an extra veins phenotype. cicD49 and bwkΔ81 is a lethal combination, cicD49 and bwkΔ14 or bwkΔ11 are 'Almost lethal'. bwkΔ11, cicD49 animals are 'almost lethal' and have abnormal wings. These wings can have an extra wing vein tissue phenotype, where intervein cells acquire morphological features of vein cells at least partially. This extra tissue is usually close to the normal veins. This wings also have wing blisters. These animals also have defects in the male genitalia. The cuticle plates forming the genitalia are oriented in the opposite direction to those of wild-type. The addition of bwkΔ11 and vn1 fails to enhance the extra wing vein phenotype seen in cicD49/bwkΔ11 animals.
A cicD49/+ background causes worsened ommatidial disorganization of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF>Hsap\ATX182Q.Scer\UAS-expressing eyes, when flies are raised at room temperature.
Scer\GAL4C5-driven expression of Hsap\ATX182Q.Scer\UAS in a cicD49/+ background results in more prominent L3 vein thickening and increased ectopic wing vein formation in the posterior part of the interveins compared to expression of Hsap\ATX182Q.Scer\UAS in a wild-type background.
