Description

Insertion of P{lacW} in the intron that separates the coding sequence of glycine at amino acid 1756. P{lacW} is orientated such that the direction of transcription of the Ecol\lacZ is the same as that of trio.

Insertion of P{lacW} into an intron in the coding region of the P{lacW} transcription unit, between coding exons 7 and 8.

Shows reduced locomotor activity and failure of wing extension when heterozygous with Df(3L)Fpa1. In both trioS036810/trioE4.1 and trioS036810/Df(3L)Fpa1 the LV and LM lobes of the mushroom bodies are abnormally developed. In the adult mushroom bodies the α, β abd γ lobes are altered. The ellipsoid body is also affected, with variable severity. The axons extend to the correct region but fail to form their arborization pattern.

Heterozygotes of trioS036810/trioM89 show a wing blister phenotype but are otherwise wild type.

seq9.17 dominantly exacerbates the pre-pupal lethality of trioM89/trioS036810. However, survival to third instar larvae is indistinguishable between wild-type and the mutants. The seq9.17/+; trioM89/trioS036810 larvae retain the forager-like feeding behaviour at a time (90-93 hours after hatching) when their siblings and all control larvae have already transitioned to wanderers.
