foxoBG01018/foxo21 and foxoBG01018/foxo25 flies display a 4.8% improvement in medial survival following M.marinum infection in comparison to wild-type flies - 174 hours vs. 166 hours. The number of bacteria recorded in these flies is not significantly different from wild-type flies. However, the rate of glycogen loss is significantly slowed in infected foxoBG01018/foxo25 flies compared to wild-type flies, so that disease-induced wasting is reduced in the foxoBG01018/foxo25 mutants.
